Report on Children’s Engagement with Virtual Reality (VR) Technologies

Posted on September 25 2017 in Action News

DigiLitEY recently collaborated with Dubit in a Think Tank which examined children’s engagement with Virtual Reality (VR) technologies. One of the outputs of that event was a Report on the subject, which outlines research Dubit undertook with a range of partners, alongside an account of the key issues discussed in the Think Tank. The report, written by a team led by Dr. Dylan Yamada-Rice (Dubit’s Senior Research Manager, and the Industry Liaison Manager for DigiLitEY), provides an introduction to issues surrounding children’s use of VR, including content design, creating engaging content, health, safety and legal issues, as well as the potential use of VR in education. The report was recently launched at an event hosted by Dubit and BAFTA in London. A podcast of the full session, including all presentations and the Q&A, is available online.
